Taylor Acorn Turns a Decade of Guitar Pop Into Global Fandom

Nashville singer-songwriter Taylor Acorn has built a passionate international following with guitar-driven music that moves between pop, rock and country. Her latest chapter, the deluxe edition of her sophomore album Poster Child, arrived on Friday, Oct. 23, and she has signed with Fearless Records. The release adds four new tracks that she describes as the continuation of the story the original album began.

A record shaped by self-discovery

Acorn says Poster Child reflects the last few years of her life, a stretch she describes as a process of self-discovery and regaining her footing. She frames the work as a reconnection with her past self, offered grace as she keeps moving forward. The two singles that previewed the new material, "Isn't It Strange" featuring Knox and "Growing Pains," offered early hints of that reflective direction.

The deluxe edition as an epilogue

According to Acorn, the four added tracks document what happened after the album came out: the strain of touring, the work of balancing a personal life with mental health struggles, and the value of her relationships over recent months. She calls the expansion a way to close the chapter and move toward what comes next. Her favorite of the new songs changes day to day, though she names "Batteries" as the one that wins out for now, a song she ties to the pressure of constant comparison and the need to pause.

Upcoming dates and a wider circle of influence

Acorn is scheduled to join State Champs on their U.S. tour in November and December, extending her live presence after a run of shared bills with artists such as Avril Lavigne and Dashboard Confessional. Her taste offers a glimpse of her influences: she points to In This Moment and особенно to frontwoman Maria Brink's voice and theatrics, a band she says she often plays at the gym.
