Editing Services

The Attic Editing Service

No writer wants to be caught sending work to an editor that isn't clean of basic errors. Our micro-ediiting service allows you to send your work out with the confidence that the basics are covered & corrected.

Let us help you finish the piece--whether it's a novel, article, short story, book manuscript, proposal, grant application, thesis, marketing materials, e-mails, newsletter, or even a poem.

We offer several types of editing based on each writer’s wants and needs. These choices will help you to reach the potential your writing has to offer and are a great way to help ensure your piece has been prepared to send to publishers of any kind.

Below are descriptions of our services.

1. Proofreading: correction of punctuation and spelling errors. ($25/hr)

2. Copyediting: line editing for correction of punctuation, spelling, and all-encompassing grammatical errors. ($35/hr)

3. Developmental editing: combines basic copy editing with attention to radical changes or development that may be necessary for manuscript clarity and ultimate completion. ($50/hr)

Rates are consistent with the Editorial Freelancers Association. Our editing services do not guarantee publication.

The Attic Atheneum

A groundbreaking alternative to the traditional and low-residency MFA, the Attic Atheneum is an 11-month certificate program that melds independent study under close faculty supervision, student receptions, genre meetings, public readings, and other special events created around good food and dynamic conversation, dialogue, and literary community. Applications accepted between March 1 - April 30.
